I have to ask or to change the residence (the home address where I live) / Devo chiedere o cambiare la residenza (l’indirizzo della casa in cui abito)

 

When should I apply for residence for the first time? / Quando devo chiedere la residenza per la prima volta?
•    When you have just entered Italy with a visa lasting more than 90 days and you have made the request of a residence permit at the Questura or the post office with the kit postale.

When should I apply for the change of residence? / Quando devo chiedere il cambio di residenza?
•    When you already have residence in an Italian Comune and you want to apply for residence in a different Comune;
•    when you have changed your address but you always live in the same Comune;
•    when you have been canceled by the Comune because you were not found at home by the municipal police.

Where should I apply for residence for the first time? / Dove devo chiedere la residenza per la prima volta?
At the Anagrafe Office of your Comune.

What should I do if I have changed my residence? / Cosa devo fare se ho cambiato residenza?
You must go to the Anagrafe Office of the Comune where your new home is located immediately after the transfer to the new address. Always remember to put your surname on the doorbell and on the mailbox. You can also have your mail delivered to the new address using the “Seguimi” service of the Post Office.

What should I bring to the Anagrafe Office of the Comune? / Cosa devo portare all’Ufficio Anagrafe del Comune?
You must bring, in original and in photocopy, for you and for all the family members:
•    valid passport (or other identification document);
•    tax code  (link a scheda semplificata nelle varie lingue vedi http://www2.immigrazione.regione.toscana.it/?q=risorsepertema&temaid=329...);
•    residence permit not expired;
•    the receipt of the Post Office if you have submitted the application for a residence permit at the Post Office;
•    the receipt of the Questura if you have submitted the application for a residence permit to the Questura;

•    if you are a guest you must bring:
1.    the consent form of the person hosting you and a photocopy of his identity document;
2.    the consent form of the owner and a photocopy of his identity document.

Is there any other way to ask or change the residence? / C’è un altro modo per chiedere o cambiare la residenza?
Yes, you can also prepare all the necessary documents and send them by lettera raccomandata A/R or by e-mail to PEC (posta elettronica certificata) of the Comune but you still have to inform the Anagrafe Office of your Comune before sending them.
