What it is
The integration agreement is a “pact” between the State and the non community citizen with scope to facilitate integration, providing the instrument for the under standing of the fundamentals of the Italian Constitution and of the Italian language.
Who should sign the Agreement
The agreement must be signed by non community citizens not above 16 years of age entering Italy for the first time and presenting an application for a residence permit of a duration not less than a year.
When the agreement is signed
The agreement is signed on the day of the appointment for the application of the residence permit at the Unified Immigration Desk in the Prefecture or Central Police Station. The agreement is translated in the language indicated by the person who must sign or where that is not possible in another known language. For minors between 16 and 18 years, the agreement is also signed by the parents or the one who has parental responsibility, regularly resident in Italy.
