I have studied in Italy (Bachelor, PhD or Master) but I have not yet found a job

What should I do to stay in Italy while I look for work? Cosa devo fare per rimanere in Italia mentre cerco lavoro?
You have to apply for a residence permit for pending employment.

When do I have to apply? Quando devo fare la domanda?
Before the expiry of the residence permit for study.
Attention. In order to submit the application for a residence permit for pending employment immediately after graduation, Ph.D or master, you must remember to enrol to the Centro per l’Impiego.

How should I send the application? Come devo inviare la domanda?

1. Go to the Post Office Sportello amico and pick up the kit (an envelope, the modulo, and instructions) for submitting your residence permit application
2.  fill in the modulo
3. submit the application for residence permit and documents to the post office

What documents do I need? Quali documenti mi servono?

• 16 euro tax stamp
• photocopy of your passport (only pages with photos, visas and stamps)
• receipt of enrollment at Centro per l'impiego
• certificate of the degree granted to you by the University
• receipt of the payment of the residence permit contribution

4. The post office will tell you when will be the first appointment at the Questura and will give you the postal receipt for the residence permit application.
Attention: This receipt is important because it shows that you can stay in Italy.

What should I do at the Questura? Cosa devo fare in Questura?
In Questura you have to:

1. bring 4 passsport photographs
2. bring the original enrollment of the Centro per l'impiego
3. have you fingerprinted

How long does it take to have the permit? Quanto tempo serve per avere il permesso?
The Questura will send you a text message to tell you the day to go to the Immigration office of the Questura to withdraw the residence permit.
