What is it? / Cos’è?

The social bonus for economic hardship is a discount on gas, electricity and water bills for families with economic problems and for large families.

Who can apply this? / Chi può chiederlo?

You can receive the social bonus if:

• you have an ISEE that does not exceed 12,000 euro

or:

• you have a large family (more than 3 children) with an ISEE not exceeding 20,000 euro

or:

• you have a family receiving citizenship income (reddito di cittadinanza) or a citizenship pension (pensione di cittadinanza)

To qualify for the social bonus for economic hardship one person in the household must be the holder of an electricity, gas or water contract.

Attention:
It is also possible to request the bonus in the case of a condominium gas or water utility.
(Often, gas or water contracts are in the name of the condominium: this means that the person does not receive a bill, because water bills are part of the condominium expenses).

What do I have to do to apply? / Cosa devo fare per chiederlo?

The social bonus for economic hardship is granted automatically. This means that you do not have to apply to the municipality.
You just have to do the ISEE every year (see information sheet on ISEE).
You have to take the ISEE to your municipality or to the CAF  or Patronato.
